ARTIST STATEMENT
Concerned by notions that there are particulars contained within and expelled without in mainstream identity politics, I examine the porous boundaries of identity formations in my practice, especially in terms of gendered expressions. This practice takes into account my roles as an artist, researcher, and educator as my processes are a recursive working through in search for better questions—as much as for answers—through autoethnographic inquiry in video performance as well as digital storytelling platforms and graphic novels.
The work is shared through social media outlets for reasons that include the pedagogical, further exploring issues of intersubjectivity, intimacy and existential space, and the trace of the virtual body in gender transition.
